Providence's squad hit the ground running with an early try against the Dragons, setting the tone for the match. Though Palmer proved to be a fit team with excellent skills, but Providence's experience and cohesion brought them ahead. The Dragons found themselves stopped every time by relentless defense. Palmer's only points in the first 40 came from a penalty kick near the uprights. The first half of the Final Four closed out with Providence ahead 12-3.

As Providence played Palmer on Field 4, their competition for Sunday was being decided in a match between the Berkeley All-Blues II and the Knoxville Minx. The Minx put on a spectacular showing, earning a lopsided 70-10 win against the All-Blues, a historically strong side. Providence will play the Minx at 10:45am in the main stadium.
